Exeter Show

This is were we went after the Exeter Show...Grindlewauld on the West Tamar... a quaint little Austrian village which was the dream of a man called Roelf Vos...his wife was Austrain and he was Dutch...he bought the land and then sold house and land packages with the Austrain Alp style homes...you could only buy the land if you built one of the Austrain alp style homes ...didnt matter what the inside area plan was like...just had to be in keeping with the style of the area. It has the best mini putt putt golf course ever and a nine hole real gold course too...This is the little village shopping area...fabulous chocolate shop ....we visited that...MMMMM

Great chocolate milkshakes and the best homemade icecreams....

THE EXETER COUNTRY SHOW...
OH those uncrowded rides when you are the only one on the ride...give me that anyday.

just love the animals...this was a young goose...i used t have geese growing up and i love the way they honk to call each other....this one must have been very comfortable with the peopple contact ...he did honk for me.

He is the man of the moment with two lorikeets...right out there in the open...they just sat on his finger and shoulder...nibbleing his ear...mmmm.... their wings were clipped so they couldnt fly away even if they wanted to.

the centre of the show ground was devoted to free games and activities for the kids(and big kids) this was me making bubbles for Hattie to catch...

Now this is for you Aaron K.... they had a huge tent devoted to player memorabelia and you could buy stuff there as well.... see even though we think the Tigers rule we agree there is a place for the Hawks... at the country show in Exeter ..LOL

Now Mum check this out.....that is Hattie right up there at the top of that huge jumping castle slide...she didnt slide down it though ...she chickened out ...it was to high for her she said ...i am sur eif one of us could have gone up there with her she would have been hard to get off there....but she did enjoy the other parts of the castle...10 minutes of it.

OK this is the hugest python snake ...we got very brave and touched his tail...suprisingly it was cool and felt very smooth and velvety...but that tail was a long way from the head and that was the only reason we touched it.......

Here is Hattie riding "Blondie" the pony ...she adores the riding part and takes to it like a duck to water...sits high and straight in the saddle and loved every minute of the ride.

you can see here the way the parrot's wing is clipped...Hattie wasn't too sure of holding the bird...its claws were a bit sharp for her.

how shiny and smooth the feathers were on this bantum rooster were...he was so tame and had been a show bird ...he loved to be held and fell asleep when you stroked his breast. He was in the enclosure with all the farm animals from Old Macs Farm.

How cute were the little ducks diving in and out of the swimming pool...you got to hold these as well ...they put a towelling face washer inside a bucket hat and let the kids hold them... beleive you me that exhibition was the busiest one there....

Let me introduce you to "Apples" the rabbit...this little beauty was Hatties favorite and we went back so many times for her to hold it...i am sure if we could have walked off with him she would have...

Today was the most amazing day going to a real country show...the way shows used to be... $4 bucks for an adult and kids free...where else could you have a huge day of fun in the sun and fresh air and get blue fairy floss....YEAH..we are going again next year.
