We spent the day driving to Hobart and had lunch together in a pizza cafe on Salamanca ..a yummy smoked salmon, brie and pesto pizza...a walk around the city then off to leave me to stay at Chelsea's for the week after putting my man on the bus for home with the new Dan Brown book to read on the way...
The minister that married us was a stand in as the regular minister was sick on the day....
The bridal party... Kelvins brother Danny, my girlfriend Gaylene, US and best man, Mick Walker, who was the president of the Scottsdale Football Club...they were playing the grand final against North Launceston that day and he was at the alter with a small transistor radio in his pocket trying to listen to the scores...and my other girlfriend Denise...outside of the Mary Magdalene Church of England Church in Anne Street George Town...

This is one of my favorites of the photos we have even though it is too dark... but i love it...(cause you can see i love the man )
My dress was bought in Sydney by my mother and i didnt see it until the week of the wedding but it fitted well ..the style was called "baby doll"...it was made of twinkle crepe that sparkled in the late sun...and the bodice was cu pure lace with an inserted hidden panel in the front..
I was right in with my head dress too...a very sixties three corner scarf covered in crepe flowers...my viel was on a comb and the hair was barrel curls with pale blue forget me nots entwined in it....
the girls and me... they had silk violets in their bouquets that were made by women in a french prison...there dresses where pale pink crimpolene material..

Congratulations Annette! Not sure about the head scarf-looks a bit like those old bathing caps. But LOVE the dress. And your jaunty little going away outfit. My mum married my dad in a PANTS SUIT!! That would have been about 40 years ago. Cute photos.

ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! I love that you've remembered all the little details. I think the head dress is completely funky and has GOT to come back into fashion soon! Your going away outfit is so Jackie O and I LOVE it! Happy Anniversary to you both - you obviously get this crazy thing we call married life! Love you heaps, Wendy xxx
