In my pretty Garden.... the vegies are growing

Poppy dug over the soil after the last of the lettuce died from frost bite... and a little girl became a seagull for a brief window of time...scooping up the worms with a squeal of glee...Yes of course we put them back in the garden and we even covered them over so the blackbird that Nanna calls "Charlie" and lives in the garden somewhere, can't gobble them up!!!!

"Can you see this one Poppy found for me Nanna??"....

"Just look how big this one is"

"I am looking for some more big worms but i think this fork is too big for me.. you should buy me a little kids one Nanna"

But Nanna was looking at the sun shining through the silver beet leaves...

This year i bought a variegated punnet of beet.... tastes the same but looks so pretty in the salads and the garden....


Now that Poppy has done all the hard digging we are going to sow the broad beans... early variety dwarf broad beans.... Nanna has the seed there in the jar.... she poked the holes in the soil and Hats planted them...

Can you see our very productive little vegie patch???

the cabbage- like foliage is Broccoli and it has fist size heads already...and in this bottom corner is parsley, Cos Lettuces(not for much longer) and those are carrots tops you see as well....

Oh the joy of the earth under your fingernails (those gloves are too big i must get me some smaller ones)and the clods of it stuck to your gardening crocs...but the best part comes when you harvest the goodies so fresh ..straight to your table... to enjoy the fruits of your labors...

but best of all is having a little girl to share the day with.
