Another little glimpse at Tasmania's Heritage and Past....through the eyes of ME...
i think i am so lucky to be able to check out some properties when they have signs up that say "Trespassers Prosecuted"
but i get to go in with "Himself" when the property is purchased and the new owners are building on the their new land...
this was the case here......
this sad little structure was being (perhaps once a very fancy outside "dunny" as i saw a double wooden toilet seat in there....double you say...i wouldn't want to go to the loo with someone else beside me either..heehheee.but perhaps it was a very fancy his and hers or adults and children's)
the shed.... i just love the peeling paint and the weathered timber.. a suggestion that it once had access to a loft for grain and feed storage maybe????
then the stables......
the wire netting covering the door was No barrier or deterrent to some brave cold creature seeking refuge from the stormy cold nights ....
Nature seeking a better view on the window sill!!!!
The feed boxes for the horses and perhaps the milking cow still just waiting to be of use once more...
hand painting ...still weathering the test of time...
Machines now idle ...just silently standing.....waiting!!!!!!
a room full of kilns at the end of the stables...what was their use i wonder????? were they part of the wash house and the cook house????
This is the stable with the kiln room through that door at at the end ...
how i wish this door could talk and tell us who went this way!!!!!

Your grand kids are blessed to have you. I am also sorry to hear about your dad. I love your attitude about it and hope you are able to go and do and spend as much time with him as you can.
