Frost, Ice....Little girl"s Garden Delight....

This morning we awoke to a white, white frost and ice at least 10milimeters thick on the bird bath in the garden...

This is the white, white frost ...the weather report said it was - 3 degrees Celsius...and i have no doubt it was....
the as the frost melted and the sun raised itself in the sky the day warmed up so we took to the garden ...Poppy was making an edge of old bricks to separate the lawn from the garden.. we got those bricks for free from a man out near Lebrina... great when it costs you nothing but the effort to collect them and put them where you want them....

she had to have Nanna's gloves to help Poppy (she really was a help carrying the half bricks to him)

The slower covered boots helped push the bricks into place...just like Poppy was doing....

In all that disturbance of the ground we found a baby lizard under the straw ..he had already discarded his tail so we put him in the bowl ...(but only to have a look at him for a little while)..he went back into the garden under the safety of a pot plant where he will be warm and cosy during the frosty nights..

Our Postman will be duly impressed with his new brick pad to ride straight up to the letter box instead of getting his bike stuck in the mud....

Not a very good shot of the front of the house (this was before "Himself" constructed the posties brick pad)... i promise to show you some better ones soon....
Check out our beautiful "Guard" dog Beattie keeping watch on her patch.... she loves to sit here and watch the busy building going on in our street...

  2. I'm so jealous of your beautiful lawn Annette! The fence looks great too! That is new since we've been out there. The bricks look awesome too - looks like you guys are almost done with all the garden stuff - lucky ducks!
