I have been working again on some pieces of eclectic gatherings..(now that i actually have a little time to myself...(and note i said LITTLE)....putting them on canvas and adding some history...
Each individual piece has a story to tell.....
here are their stories beneath each piece....
Harriet and Albert...They were to be married when she turned 16...her father had promised..she stitched and crocheted these treasurers for her Glory-box....she treasured and cared for them...now they are part of your collection...treasure them on.....
Great Aunt Yvonne was just 16 when her beau Tom went off to war...she filled her nights waiting for him to return, by the fire, crocheting doilies and "fancy working" treasures for her box...Tom never returned....
Ellen and Fred were sweet hearts before the war broke out and Ellen loved all things bright and colourful...you now own part of her eclectic world ...enjoy
Tilly was taught by her grandmother to crochet and embroider...she never married....you too now can enjoy her love of her grandmothers crafts and talents....
closer look!!!
embellishments original...
each canvas is individual and the story behind the doilies on the canvas is printed on card stock and on the back of each piece....
What am i doing with them now????? if you are interested let me know ....i have got a gallery wanting some of my work....!!!!! Wooo Hooooo!!!!!
Anyone got any ideas... because i am moving in another direction with my doily collection but still in the same vein...watch this space for more Nettie Living Memories....

I love them Annette!! They are gorgeous and I love the stories that go with them. Good Luck with it all.
ReplyDeleteI love them!
ReplyDeleteI have several thanks to the Aunts that raised me and the fact that vintage wasn't so cool a few year back, so I ended up with some... lucky me that when vintage became cool my cousins had already shrug it off and let Teresa have it" ahahahah
And as they are lovely the most important thing is the stories they suggest and bring back.
Thank you for sharing yours.
Love You,
Teresa
