On the road to Cradle Mountain on Tuesday we passed this sad little weathered cottage..those of you who read my blog will know of my passion for sad little deserted Colonial History and especially little cottages..and so here is another one i have photographed to show you...just the front mind because there was a pile of neatly chopped wood stacked in the back yard so i didn't venture around the actual whole outside of the cottage ..nor did it try the door ... or poke my camera in the windows...(oh how i was tempted i can tell you)
and this was as close as i dared go to the windows....
How i would have loved to step inside and let my soul steep in the history of this little cottage
to feel that lost atmosphere of the lives of those who once lived here....
there had been an effort to bring the front into this century...but sadly it has now been taken over by the ravages of the weather and of lack of maintenance....Mother Nature has done her best to try to shield this little cottage from those ravages of the winds and rain ...by wrapping it in a robe of red....this berry bush was huge and fanned right out across the front with its magnificent flush of ruby red berries...
i had two very inquisitive young beasts who came right to the rails of the fence to check me out ...allowing me to reach through only inches from a soft warm moist nose...huge big inquiring eyes and no fear at all...
Perhaps one day there may be new life regenerated into my sad little Claude Road Colonial Cottage again...perhaps?????
The first pic is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWho knows?!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile it waits, allowing weather and time to leave scars that only lots of care and love can heal.
Breaks one's heart, doesn't it?
