As part of my Blog Banner suggests "Nostalgia" i thought i would take you on an historic tour of some of the forgotten little deserted once upon a time cottages, homes or buildings around our state.... not so off the beaten track either....As i drive past them my mind goes off into musing about who lived there, the sort of people they were, what they did for work, how many children there were in the family, where they went to shcool, and what happened to them to make this building empty, forgotten and unloved..... As you can see i have a very active imagination..... i will try to find out all of those things, well if not all then some, if i can...but for now enjoy the trip through Tasmanian history.
This little farm is right at the top of the winding road on your left just as you leave the last views of the East Coast coming from Bicheno...there is a tourist lookout with magnificent views over the Wine Glass Bay area...this little farm perched right on the brow of the hill as you round a sharp bend.... the trees that guard the gates suggest it has been there for many years as do the buildings themselves.... the gates also suggest that the property is still being used to agist animals...maybe sheep or a few cattle(even i couldnt see them).
Who lived here????
What did these use this building for????
By all means if you know ...tell me...maybe it was one of your ancestors ?????
A bit spooky! Surely it's got to be for hay bales or farm equipment. Please don't tell me people lived there! I'm so glad I was born in the 1970s!
