Autumn Leaves City Park and the monkeys after 40 odd years

School Holidays at Nanna's are not school holidays without a trip to the city park....
there is always change with in nature there and it is so tactile as well as visual.....
especially with two girls.....and a great aunt who is 91....

The Rotunda .... as you stand and wonder how many pieces of beautiful music have been played here over the years.... if you close your eyes and listen you can almost hear it...then the little train rings it's bell and calls you back to the present....

these lamps would have been gas when this park was first planned and planted...

Now what are you doing up there..... hanging about..... how did you get there????
the beauty is there when you look up....sometimes we forget to do that!!!!

Now this is another reason we went to the park...... this beautiful lady is Kelv's Aunt ...she is 91 year young...loves life, still put her hair in curlers and asks me what colour lipstick am i am wearing and want to have everything matching...is still up there with fashion and wants to not look "old lady" ..you should see her collection of fashion jewellery...it is amazing... 8 ice cream containers full...i kid you not!!!!

She only accepted the wheelchair so that the girls could push her around the park.....

Now this is the very reason she wanted to come to the City park...she had not been here for over 40 years and she has lived in Launceston for all her married years...sadly she lost the love of her life and companion for over 57 year ..last June ..15th... she has no children so her nieces, and in law nieces spend quality time with her (and i love that time..it is not a chore at all)
she teaches me so much about life....

That face full of the joy as she watched the monkeys swing and chase each other just had to be captured.... love those character lines..i just want to trace them with my fingertips....

We nearly got her on this train for a ride around the park but a family came along and she wanted them to go instead of her.....

But they enjoyed the ride ...the train has been in the park for 25 years now ..bringing joy to all those kids...Have you been on the train in the City park?????

And all those leaves.....Autumn taking off her coat.....

Laying tehm down to be gathered up..arm loads ...Look out Nanna and Auntie Floss!!!
That beautiful face looks full of mischief!!!

Yep..we copped that arm load of leaves......laughing...fun....

MMMMM..... i am pretending not to be interested in doing that.....

Go on D.... have a leaf fight with B..... No i don't want to Nan....

but when we weren't looking ...look at her go.....all over us....

Look this is where we were and how long this park has been enjoyed by the people of Launceston.... Yep it really does say 1887.... gorgeous wrought iron...you have to see and experience this gorgeous place....
