While i had three very wonderful guest's last week during the Youth Convention for our Church i made them Pancakes for Breakfast...my special Pancakes of course...sort of a tradition in our family when we have guests (and Grandkids) staying at Nanna's....
This was how they looked...and i know your mouth is watering to taste them.... shame there isn't a scratch and sniff plus a taste button on the computer hey????
come on you computer nerds...get moving on that part of the technology please.....
Now i top my pancakes with fresh fruit like strawberries, kiwi fruit, chopped apple and pear and banana...then i dollop on the passion fruit and mango yoghurt from the Gippsland valley then the wickedest part of all it you drizzle that with Maple syrup...yummo!!!!!
OH yes the recipe for the pancake...mmmm will i tell you?????

yes i am enjoying this part.....
yes i am enjoying this part.....
Alright ...
Alright... here is my recipe..
.Nanna's Pancakes
Take a measuring jug and pour in two cups of milk, crack in three farm fresh eggs that your next door neighbor has passed you over the fence that were laid by his 7 chooks only the day before.... take you kitchen wand and buzz them up... a couple of drops of vanilla before you sift in just enough Self Raising flour (about 2 cups or a bit more)and two teaspoons of baking powder to make a runnyish mixture....
Let the mixture sit while you warm your pan to just hot enough...spray it with canola or your favorite cooking spray..and using your soup ladle start cooking girls....
they will be gobbling them down faster than you can make them ....believe you me...
Nanna sure makes good pancakes...
Enjoy and start your own guest tradition ...but tell me if you have any special traditions like this in your families...

ReplyDeleteOh yes! We sometimes (when mum is in a good mood and the kids have cleaned up the kitchen) makes waffles. I like to add banana and coconut to the mixture and then MY favourite topping- mixed berries cooked in the microwave with a dash of balsamic vinegar and some sweetener- Agave syrup is my fav non sugar sweetener at the moment. YUMMO. But one of MY favourite treats when the kids are at school and I've made them banana cake for their lunches, is to slice a thick bit of banana cake, toast it, whack on a dollop of unsweetened yoghurt and drizzle with a teeny bit of agave (or honey). MMMMM.
