fur coat anyone????

This is our beautiful girl Beattie... she is a Red Fox Labrador...(if you look close you will see why they call her a Fox Lab...see the lighter stripes just near her shoulders..??? and instead of being a lighter golden colour she is more gingery red....)
Tonight i decided she was losing a lot of hair and she needed a really good brushing to remove all the lose coat.... with the hot weather she has been shedding a lot of fur.... i think she is getting ready to grow her winter coat!!!!

Can you believe how much fur there is??????

She loves, adores, is ecstatic and in her element when you get out the brush and groomer....
She is almost 9 years old hence the grey muzzle....

see that funny looking object in my hand ????(and the adoring look that she is giving me) that is the groomer that has "saw like" teeth on both sides ...one side is smaller than the other

Just look how relaxed she was as i was raking out all that fur..
i think it will be all gone (i did get "himself" to rake ups the majority of it) in the morning...the little birds come and collect it to line their nests....
so nice to know that nature helps each other.... i am all for that!!!!!

  4. That is NOTHING compared with how much hair our Honey looses in spring. she grows an under coat in winter and all spring and most of summer she sheds about that much a day!!!!!! I like the look of your brush thing. I haven't seen one like that before.

  7. Love it! In my sidebar, the fur looked like soap suds, but that is a LOT of fur. And doesn't she look so happy in that second last photo.
