Nanna it is Summer today...!!!!!!

Twenty Degrees on the East Coast of Tasmania could quite easily compete with the coast of Queeensland...welllll maybe!!!!!
Today we packed a picnic lunch two fishing rods into Poppy's trusty old ute (plus another set of clothes for Rosie) and headed for the East Coast....Poppy had a job to do that was only going to take 20-30 minutes and we decided to go for the ride.
We found a great little spot around on Ackarowa Beach ...it is a boat ramp and jetty with a cute little beach off to the side...
we ate our lunch while Beattie our 10 year old Labrador smiled, wadding  herself deeper and deeper in till she just got in over her back....
then it was out of the water to roll in the sand and pull herself along on her tummy ...she adores the beach and the salt water....

and so does this little girl....the shoes came off the skirt and the leggings got rolled up....(the water was freezing for me..i love the beach and the sea..but i just couldn't get my feet in today)

they went in and out for an hour or so...until a another little girl came onto the beach and went for a paddle with her...(no pics of her as i didn't get permission)

then the inevitable happened..she ran too fast into the water and fell flat on her face...all wet!!!!
did she care?????
Not on your Nellie!!!!

when we first got here "Himself" got out the rods and decided to put them in to catch us a feed of fish for our dinner tonight!!!!!
She checked out the water to see if she could see any of the bounty that her Poppy was going to catch!!!!

so he was on his own to do all the catching.....

the name of the beach was Beerbarrel Beach.....

this was our view from the little beach and the jetty.... the cloud came over just as we were leaving ....we have an wonderful day...
Just a shame i had to come home and make a tinned salmon, asparagus and fetta  quiche for tea instead of BBQ-ed fresh fish...NO..."himself" was lamenting the fact too...
there is always next time .....mmmm

  1. Rosie's sweater is too cute and her smile priceless.

    Blessed Be Sweet Nettie.

You have such charming family  and Beattie just joins the charm of it.

And here we are turning our closets and bringing Autumn clothes out. What a Wonderful World we live in; when filled with magical moments like these.

    Thank you for sharing,
