While i was at work yesterday Poppy went half way to Hobart to collect two little girls so that they could have a couple of days holiday with Nanna and Poppy...
Yeah!!!!! Nanna is so excited to have two little helpers....ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE NEEDS TO PICK ALMOST 20 KILOS OF BLUE BERRIES....
THAT'S WHAT WE DID TODAY ....and they both were a great help...
Hattie picked you one whole bucket Mummy ...all by herself...she will be bringing them home with her when she comes.....it was a beautiful sunny morning to do it too....
Rosie was given her own little pink bucket which she filled to the brim as well....(she wanted to take the bucket home too...oh well)
this was just when we started.... this year is a bumper harvest according to the Crestview Blue Berry Farm
owners at Lilydale.... You can pick your own for just $6 dollars a kilo...
Plump orbs of delicately dusted deliciousness, packed with anti oxidants and Vitamin C...mmmmmmm, so good to eat and healthy for you as well.... just ask the girls how yummy they are????...they popped a few in their mouth even though the sign says....
"don't eat our profits..this is our lively hood"
Rosie's full bucket!!!!!
checking our tongues just in case the man asked us to show him our tongue ...no purple tongue ...phewwwwww!!!!
Crestview Blueberry Farm ...just through Lilydale...open from 8am till 6pm..7 days a week....open for the season maybe till the end of February only if it blows and rains it will close because the crop will be lost) go get yours now..picking your own is so much fun and you just pop them in the freezer to use through the rest of the year (yeah right..they don't last that long here!!!)
Do you really mean 20 kilos or just 2? xx
ReplyDeleteNanna is a slave driver ;); but they seem to love every minute of it and how could they not?
ReplyDeleteIt is so important for children to have this touch with nature and enjoying and learning the proccess of things.
That's why staying with Nanna and Poppy is priceless and lovely.
Enjoy cooking the 20 kilos and do share the results.
Love,
T
