a Day at AGFEST

Today at 9am we took the free bus from the Foster Street end of Inveresk Park where they have the Market out at AGFEST.... even thought the weather was threatening rain ...we didn't get any until we had bordered the bus at 4.30pm for the ride back to pick up our car....
What a fabulous day we had...so many talented people and so many things to eeewww and ahhh about.... the food to try.... and we only tried all the free stuff....
well we did buy ourselves a scrumptious vegetable pastie with homemade tomato chutney at the |Christmas Hills stand and only paid $4.50..which was a steal.

guess who...yep me...i would have taken this home if we had been in the car but i figure there was not enough room on the bus...booo hoooo!

this is my dear friend Barb who is visiting here from Western |Australia ..she found this broom ..the sign selling them said..."Mother-in-laws broom $10 each" we nearly bought one...

all this wooden art was so amazing....Creations...hang them in the window on a leather strip around your neck or even buy a full set of snowflakes for your wooden Christmas tree...

now this was for the mum who has everything...yes it is an apron..and if you have $85 dollars it is yours...it is just a one off..so no one else will have one anywhere near the pattern.

not forgetting the dad (or should i say the boys)..these four wheel drive vehicles where having fun ..the area was so small as well...it looked easy but i am betting you had to be a good driver not to crash into those trees...

Poatina is the place to go for this gorgeous hand blown glass..we saw them actually making them....not expensive either and apparently you can have lessons and see working art in progress.

don't you love these owls..fill them with sand and you have a door stop..fill them with wheat or rice and you have a heat bag or hottie....

the promise of spring.... bring it on!!!!!

the bumble bee busy doing her thing on this hyacinth

are these cute or what???? miniature ones....
just a word of warning if you plan on going tomorrow (Saturday) take your gumboots ..there is lots of MUD but it will be worth it..

  1. You could have invited me to tag along ;)... I love Fairs and to rummage through their offerings. I'm not good in impromptu buying but love to get lost among the items.

Hopefully warmer weather is coming (instead of Spring we're leaving Autumn - a harsh one) and I should think in sewing some door stops. Those you pictured are so funny.

Wishing you a Happy and Fun filled Weekend!

    Yours,
    Teresa

  3. Looks like you had a great day - I am determined to go next year, can't believe I haven't been yet. I would have brought one of those brooms, despite the gimmick it's just what I'm after! :)
