i have been reading!!!!!

WHEN life gets a bit stressful  i just don't get to sleep easily...it has been like that around her of late...so I READ.... i buy books from the second hand book shop so it costs a quarter of the price ...plus friends give me novels they have read and there is always the Odd garage sale or two... you can see i love all sorts of reading...but mostly i am a bit of a fiction reader...escapism for me... i have a very graphic mind so therefore i manage to allow myself the luxury of slipping into the story as another character....
but when the novel becomes a bit to scary or i start to feel fear...i escape out of there by turning the pages and not reading the scary or gory parts....(do you do something like that???)

After this weeks tragic news of loss of our wonderfully brave soldiers fighting in Afghanistan the book by Joanna Trollope was to close to home...a good read...
of course i love a good romance..."Himself" says...'you know how the story line is going to go..boy meets girl and fall in love happy ever after....why bother'.... those authors like Danielle Steele, Nora Roberts and Jodi Picoult....are a good romance read....
Di Moressey and Judy Nunn both pack their novels with the love of Australia and the islands and write descriptive novels mixed with realistic everyday life...
I am still reading "Cold in Earth" ...a very squirmy book written in diary form...a very confronting read so far with revealing inner depth of feelings and i am only a quarter of the way through...this is her first novel too...i will be looking out for the next one...

so how have you gone with your winter reading...Winter is nearly gone you know...it will be in the garden for me soon...put the books away and maybe the fresh air will help me get some sleep....

Hey Mel ....Did you know someone else has your name ...??????

PS... i am willing to continue the reading spree if anyone wants to have any of these...just let me know...

  1. What???? No Nora Roberts in the pile?
This could mean the end of this wonderful friendship ;) (as if...).
I am a terrible reader. Really. One that has writers frowning upon. The gory and scary are jumped and skipped here too. Specially if I'm comfort reading.
    Be Well Dear Friend!

  2. I would love to borrow the Joanna Trollope Nettie. And Stony Heart Country looks interesting too. No hurry though. Thanks for the seedlings and seeds this morning xxx
