George Town High School 50th Reunion

Guess who just has HIS 50th School reunion?????
(that's him in the white shirt all aglow at the top on his own)

Yes none other that "HIMSELF" and it was a blast....

i loved watching him recognise old school friends ..some he has seen through those 50 years and others he just never would have recognised in a million years....(mind you i lived and went to school there too so i knew a lot of these people too!!!)

This is my grade four Primary Teacher  Miss Judy Riley (now Mrs Judy Spinks)....she remembered me straight away as soon as she looked at my name tag.....we reminisced about how my family used to bring fish that we caught in the Tamar River and vegetables from our garden (my brother and i would ride our bikes the couple of miles there with the bounty)to her and the other student teaches who lived in the Teachers Hostel at the time ...it was attached to the District School then...

i thought we had all matured well...(well some better than others!!!)

My reflections on the evening!!!!

Funny how you hold an image in your memory ..trapped there ...until the present releases it... sometimes not always for the good....but certainly part of the progression of life...

Roll on the 60th Reunion....... maybe!!!!

  2. Nettie,
A 50th high school reunion - how wonderful! It's been 35 years for me. I hope you had a nice time. Happy Tuesday.

  3. We don't have this tradition in my Country and I think it is sad. It's nice to "return" and see them. And see how we were - because somehow we're evaluating and observing everything and everyone with differente eyes and hearts and that will teach immensely about us and the others.
Yesterday at lunch my son was describing to his sister one of the schools he went to and I was amazed at how he saw things and advised him to return there and see with his 22 year old eyes and heart.
So glad you went and had that piece of childhood returned with Miss Judy.
    Cheers for the 60th.

    Take Care Sweet Friend!
