A rainy day and lemonade scones...

It is always fun having this little lady at Nanna's...
we made scones because it was raining outside and she had played all morning with the collection of those Nanna toys ..(it was the rediscovery of the little lost treasures)

this is the best recipe for the scones we made and just so easy for little girls to make...

Lemonade Scones

3 cups of SR Flour
1 cup of REAL Cream
1 cup of lemonade

Sift the flour three times and then
pour in the cream and lemonade
stir only until it is combined
turn out the mixture
and push together
then cut into squares
and baste the tops
with milk
Bake for 12 mins on 200 oC

YUM....

we had the whole farm out in the middle of the floor...
Basting the tops with milk...precision work here...
 one brush across each scone...
 then one brush stroke back....
into the hot oven....to bake ..they topple over a little bit....
but they are just so yummy with raspberry jam and whipped cream...
and she sure polished off a few ...{so did her Poppy too }
a great way to spend a rainy afternoon....

  2. A lovely way to spend time with your grands - lots of play and some traditions and teachings passed on.
    You're a Great Nanna, Nettie.
I like her somehow untamed look and then she's all sweet and spice and a sweetheart out of "Little Women" Novel.
It rains does it?! We have the last leg of Summer today on Saint Martins Festivity. It's nice but we're getting ready for Winter that something tells me it will be mean as only Winter can be.
Enjoy and stay warm, dearest hearts.
