And these are just some of Heather's doves all looking at me...oh so cute....
"A bird in the Hand".....makes for a good picture i reckon...i had this one in my left hand and i took the picture...they are such gentle creatures...the softest pinky grey through to white with a soft cooing sound......i wanted to take a pair home....Heather has plenty...well over a hundred and she wanted to give some away.
Now this is my dear friend Carol O (who i call "Boss" because she is my RS Pres) and Heather who owns the farm we were on. In her arms is "Fern" ..Fern was rescued just over a week ago now by Heather's daughter after being dumped in the bush at the back of Exeter (on the east Tamar) ...she was in a very bad state, riddled with ticks and those ticks had even laid eggs and were using her as a host. .... she has now doubled her weight since she came to live with Heather and Les on the farm....she is a true survivor...they have now way of knowing how long she had been there but she had made herself a little cosy nest and must have been returning to it to sleep after foraging for food....it is thought she may be just on 8 weeks old now and and is recovering well from the trauma...she is in very good hands now.
Here he is the man of my life... my Kelvin...the chief cook at the BBQ....
A horses eye view....
these are the three giant oak trees that are 140 years old on Les and Heathers Farm...Lilydale
Love the bird photos! I took stacks of photos of birds at one of the wildlife parks in Tassie, and I'm not even into birds, but their colourings fascinate me. Loving the blog, Wendy xxx
