OK now you get to see what i have been reading since Christmas...
My Christmas reading from my man was....the Danielle Steele "A Good Woman", Di Morrissey "The Island" and Kathy Reichs "Devil Bones" (which i havent finished because it is all about witchcraft in USA..a bit "stand your hair up on your arms" stuff...you will know Kathy Reichs writing from her TV series "Bones") Aunty Pat gave us Judy Nunn "Heritage" which i am about to start..BUT the biography of biographies is....Mende Nazer called "Slave" (i bought it for $1 at a garage sale in George Town.....it is the most moving book i have read this year...the true story of a 12 year old girl kidnapped from her tribe by the Taliban and forced to work for a family who treated her so badly...i cried for her and all of her friends who, for some, are still slaves....she eventually escaped when sent to England to work for her captors sister... a life changing book....to think that she only just escaped in 2003 ...so this practise is still going on.... even in this modern day.
My fav books are ones like Slave, where you see these women triumph in such horrific circumstances. It brings things into perspective in our own lives and count our blessings. I still remember when u gave me those books to read when Hallie was born.... Desert Flower etc.
