What is a Thermomix???

Well last night i went to a demonstration on this amazing little kitchen gadget..... it does everything in the one bowl..chops, grinds, mixes, stirs, blends, all the things a kitchen blender and mixer does....but then it actually cooks it as well...steams, grinds the wheat, mixes the dough then proves it for bread, makes soups, steams vegetables, makes the best mashed potatoes with no extra pots or potato masher to wash up, cooks the whole meal in the stainless steel bowl and even washes itself up..... then makes the sweets as well... to find out more go to http://www.thermomix.com.au/ ...but if you buy one you have to say i recommended it to you mind...for us who grind our own wheat this is the machine...WWWOOOOHHHH and it is so quick...they did a cup of raw sugar into castor in three seconds...no other additives like the aluminium that is in castor sugar.... it has heaps of recipes and time saving ideas in the books as well......i am impressed and i am having a demo in my own home...they actually cook you a meal...we had a fabulous meal last night...soup, vegetarian walnut balls, homemade beetroot and spinach plait, chocolate banana and macadamia nut icecream(no sugar or fillers), hot chocolate, custard....yummo

These were all made in the Thermomix but the bread was cooked in the oven after being mixed in the mixer.... see my favorite there the caramel slice....MMMMmmm

This is were i got to get up and make the custard...eggs, milk and raw sugar all into the thermomix and wizz for three seconds...OH i forgot to tell you it has built in scales as well so no scales to get out and clean...we measured as we went by resetting the button on the machine...then set the cook for just a couple of minutes and it mixes it as it goes..no burned bottom and standing there stirring for ages and just rich smooth custard.... they said it makes the best risottos ....

I was impressed that this one machine could do away with my blender, my grinder, my kitchen scales, and a lot of time in the microwave and the oven as well as all that washing up and space....but the cost is a bit of a drain on the pocket straight up.... check it out though as they have payment plans... if you want to come to my demo.... it will be in April/ May...date to be advised...

  2. The price is crazy Collette - $1900 I believe but my friend Marlo raves about it and ended up buying one after going to a demo. I'm going to her demo in a few weeks. Should be interesting.

  3. Ok, so I looked them up here and they really aren't being marketed...interesting. I was just intrigued to see how much they would cost here...not that we will be getting one any time soon.
