Here we are in the back part of the garden...standing under the pruned grapevine looking down towards the gate that leads to the reserve where we walk Beattie our lab dog....

Under the flowering grab apple tree hangs the all weather candles i light in the summer...they will stay there till the summer still...
My garden produced some awesome pumpkins this year...the vine went over into my neighbors garden and he harvested 4 huge ones...we reaped 4 huge ones and 4 small ones.... pumpkin soup ...yummo
still picking "designer " lettuce as Kelvin calls it... just love the rich burgandy almost black glossy leaves of this one too
Sadly the last of the tomatoes ripening on the wall in the sun....
Fabulous Silver Beet ...rich in iron and a great winter veggie...I used to hate it when i was a kid but i love it now...

OK i grew Broccoli this year and the little green ccaterpillars you see on the the above had a good feed of the leaf cover but i still got broccoli head ...Yeah...no spray either ...each day i laboriously picked those little blighters off and squished them on the garden path.
No they are no chillies...they are capsicums ...sweet and crunchy...you can just eat them off the vines....I am going to dry them in the dehydrator soon...should be great for adding to soup and stews

Two types of parsley ..flat leaf and regular...see that little soldier bug or stink bug...they are such a nusance too

my tiny little lemon tree produced this one lemon this season....see i have more flowers so i might get more...

the apple tree at the bottom of the garden produces Granny Smiths and Delicious...yep it is a double graft

so with this (rhubarb) i can make gorgeous apple and rhubarb pies....
on my deck i have this bench of cushions to lay on sit on and relax...and there is an industrious little spider who has made his home in the deck chairs...

My man waited for 5 years for this to bloom...it is a Bird of Paradise...there are heaps of spears ready to burst into bud still....

walk with me to the front garden now...my bench to sit on and enjoy the afternoon sun while i check what is in the mail....

this beautiful Golden Ash is right by the letter box and its leaves turn from bright fluro green through to this magnificent golden yellow
my Silver Birch is turning to gold....
Beautiful Annette!
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for stopping by my blog :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of your garden, although I do envy your broccoli, ours has been attacked by aphids so the biggest broc head is looking a little sad. The ones growing near the spring onions are ok though because the aphids don't like the onion-y smell. Yay for companion planting lol. Right off to see some more of your blog :)
thanks so much for stopping by our blog.
ReplyDeletewow your garden is gorgeous, you have done an amazing job with all the vegetables.
Wow, what a beautiful garden, we didn't really get to appreciate it when we came because it was dark! Thanks for the guided tour :)
ReplyDeleteOne day I hope I have a garden like yours to behold on an Autumn afternoon ...
