FEELING BETTER...diagnosis..Pancreatitus

This is one very sad old girl... i told you how on our Australia Day we had to take her to the (very expensive)After Hours Vet.... well two lots of blood tests and nearly $400 later we know what is wrong..
Beattie had a Pancreatic Attack...which means she had Pancreatitus..apparently it is common in Labradors ...the prognosis is good...a change of diet...absolutely NO FAT...so she is living in the lap of luxury right now eating boiled chicken and rice with grated raw vegies... NO more canned food or skin off the BBQ chicken!!!!
She is on medication for a week as she also had an infection in her gut as well... we actually had seen a gradual decline in her energetic nature over the last couple of weeks...she sort of slowed down and took to sleeping in her bed in the afternoons..we just thought she was starting to get old....she is eight after all!!!

Now you might think that padded bed she is resting on there is a bit shabby ..well blame her...she likes to chew the chenille corners off her inside cushion bed and pull the stuffing out for something to do..she also chews holes in her blankets in her bed as well...she loves to come into the dining area and be with us at night while we are in the lounge..she lays at the entrance to the lounge room as she is not allowed on the carpet...

the medical bill...only the last one...zoom in and see the vets report on the bottom of the bill ...and the meds to make her better..they did give her an injection of antibiotic as well...

At last a nice moist nose again.... get well soon Beattie
