Gone are the flapping huge Canvas tents with The wispy flags flying off those flagpoles that reach to the sky...
it is all blow up now ..just like the jumping castles you see at the school fete's
And if you are looking for side shows and dodgem cars...there are none
I cant tell you how much the tickets were..because we were shouted to go ...Thanks Chelsea and Dave...
The Ring Master..... (dig the hairdo!!!)
They loved him ...he got the audience involved..
LET THE SHOW BEGIN....

The ice Queen of Russia....

And under that white tarp was the Russian dancers

Not tight rope walkers either ....but a great balancing acrobatic act...

the best juggler...fire, batons, rings...etc...

she flew through the air with the greatest of ease..the pretty pink lady on the flying trapeze....

I swear that this woman had a spine of flexible rubber...you have to see this act....gobsmacking.......and the hoop display was just the last straw...amazing....

This aerial ribbon dancer was asolutely amazing...she had us holding our breath as she wound herself up and then dropped to the floor of the big top in seconds..just stopping short of splat!!!

A CLAYTON'S CLOWN... no face painted to scare the kids and just a regular pair of pink pants and a regular shirt and bow tie...but he was fantastic with the audience participation
..had everyone in stitches...

What did these two little girls look so scared for...????

Why watching these two Brazilian Brother on the walking wall of death... one walked on the outside blind folded while the other one walked on the inside like a mouse inside a wheel ..then the guy on the outside really did almost fall...i am sure they weren't putting in on as a show stopper...we were scared for him when he slid down and just grabbed the side wires and stopped himself falling to the ground.... they were amazing...

the motorbike high rider and his female partner who swung out over the audience..she just hung there on a piece of leather by her neck, then legs and feet....

These were two Mongolian contortionists... they will make you cringe and squirm with how they can twist their bodies...

The bottom slowly drops out of the cage and the three riders are till circling in the top ....still riding..... the fourth guy is in the bottom still going around at a cracking speed as well...scary!!!

THE FINALE ... everyone out for the final bow... they all deserved it too ...i can recommend that you go..don't buy a ringside seat ..you are better off halfway up ....you can see more..but take a good telescopic lens for your camera...

No Poppy ......your hair is not long enough....

It really was great fun...we all really enjoyed the Moscow Circus and Hattie was especially excited because she got a "light saver" ( I believe it is called a light saber)...Funny thing was when she got outside she started getting sad because she thought it was broken .... it wasn't lighting up like it did inside the big top... so off the gallant knight Poppy went to change it for one that did work.....when he got inside the entry area it was darker than outside of course so he gave that "light saver" a try before he walked up to one of the circus assistants who was still selling them to ask for a replacement one. ...Well what do you know it was working ....then he realized why it was....it was because it was dark in the tent foyer and it was too light outside for it to work outside.....lucky he never asked for a new one..he he !!!..we love you gallant knight Poppy...

That was spectacular - I felt like I was there!
ReplyDeleteWe MUST go to the circus sometime - I haven't been for years!

I hear that it was pretty awesome. Looks like the girls loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. You didn't happen to see a person dressed as a dog, rattling a tin outside did you? The Dog's Home manager, Caroline, was supposed to be at one of the circus shows. Don't know which one. And clowns
ReplyDelete"... no face painted to scare the kids" scare me too. Especially the McDonalds clown. I loathe him.
Looks like great fun. No doubt more so with great kids to take with you. By the way Nettie, I believe they are called 'Light Saber's.' Though I'm sure little Hattie calling them Light Savers would be extremely cute. xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel..you school teacher you ...you are supposed to be on holidays....not correcting my grammar..... i have fixed it just for you...and Hattie does call it light saver..well to these deaf ears it sounds like that anyways....
ReplyDeleteLove ya Nettie

I love the circuses they have today- no animals. The feats that the humans do are so entertaining. What a great outing. My kids love the circus too- and Me!!!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting a trip to the circus! I must say I have enjoyed seeing the BIG blowup clowns all over town! I would love to take the children.
