An Oldie goes to Young Womens Camp

Monday 11th January loomed big and bold sunny and hot... with the good old Ford ute loaded to the hilt with all the Young Women's Clobber and me at the wheel.. a detour to collect one and one on board ...i set off for the back of beyond ...a 50 minute drive.... for a 3 day camping adventure...
the ute loaded up and tied down..we didn't loose anything either...

The campsite...... That is my dome tent...the little two man tent which i shared with Bon but spent most of the first night out in the dark or my head out in the fresh air...it was so hot....5 minutes to put up ...way to go!!!!

all the rest are in random order...just to confuse you...

The appreciation pockets...sewn onto calico....with each girls name on a pocket and all the girls were challenged to put something positive in the pocket of someone else each day... Toni's handiwork for sure....

We were lucky out camp had a great body guard and cook and handy man when the wind storm came on the Tuesday...Thanks Brother T..you were awesome...

My new flip flops... a bit fancy for camp i know... but comfy
the games.... and the winners... there were lots of team buiding games

the competitors..go Emma!!!

the skits...and devotionals....

the quiet moments...bring them on more...

the awards.... yes that's me.....i wonder why??????

Our Camp Flag...made by the girls each camp had one..i do think ours reflected the theme...

Strong and Courageous.....

Believe it...that was a trout jumping in the river and we were swimming in there......

Our drying line for the swimmers and towels... and the Loo (toilet)is in that shed...the red buckets had to be filled with water from the river to flush the loos...no auto flush out here!!!!
the camp fashions...check them out....

pancakes for breakfast anyone ..maple syrup, honey or raspberry jam?????

Whose tent is this???????? E and S and E and A.... am i dobbing or what????

the main gazebo by the river where we all met morning and night and when we needed to ....No the caravan did not belong to the leaders..it belongs to the lady who owns the Land and so kindly allows us to camp there for the 3 days.....

The camp photo on the last day....

the last look as we crossed the bridge.....we may not be able to come back there again...don't ask why?????

The bridge that freaks everyone out ... not me though...Great camp but i do love my creature comforts.... i was the oldest person by at least 15 years if not more... a granny camper..Yeah!!!!

  1. We WILL hopefully be back....I've got my fingers crossed it will all work out.

Annette, you are a champion! Thanks so much for coming along. I know how hard it was for you to sleep in the bush and away from your comfy bed at home, but we loved having you there and I know the girls did too.
