SOLD...63 Alma...

Well what a nice Christmas present we had on Christmas Eve... We sold our house.... yes it has sold ..we now have an unconditional contract and the money is in the bank...

I have already started the frenzy of madly packing up 16 years of collections.... i won't call it junk because to me it isn't junk (oh some of it is and i am being ruthless)..having come from the generation of "don't throw it away i am sure there is a use for it" people i have had to condition myself and really just look and close my eyes and out it goes...besides if i haven't used it in 12 months then out it goes....i can find something else in all the things i have that will do the job just as well if i need to....
Everything has just fallen into place and we are truly blessed...
We have been given the use of a storage facility..free of charge...for as long as we want..
We have a newly renovated..and i mean totally newly renovated house to rent where we can take our beautiful Beattie dog and our landlord is just the most generous and handsomest guy out..we love him to bits...
We have been given enough time to pack and get things organized so that we are not rushed (but i bet i still wont be organised enough) we have to be out in February

The couple who have bought the house ..we have known them from our days in St Leonards...and we can already see that they are going to love the house perhaps even more than us..they have visited us already three times to bring family through and to measure up for things...
SO..am i sad ...no not really.... this is a New Year with New Starts for us all. This will be a new phase in our lives and Kelvin will actually get to see "the fruits of his labors" so to speak ..he draws houses for other people..that's his job ..but now he will draw a house for us...and i will get to do the Interior Design...yeah!!!! We have finally settled on a plan that is still up for minor changes (mind you we are up to Mark 7 of the plans)...but yes we are finally going to build our own home instead of me renovating someone else's....
SAD no... we have wonderful memories of 63 and all the events that have taken place here..all the people and family who we have lived here, boarded here while they studies, came on exchange, visited, holidayed or just dropped by for dinner, lunch or even breakfast ...(they will still come to our new home and most of that will still happen i hope).....All the years of Monday nights that turned into Thursday night with the YSA...actually there are 4 journals full of those captured on celluloid if you want a good laugh...Those were the days...
SAD yes i think so..that i will leave four of my most beloved and devoted four legged friends interred in the garden here....( i will tell the people who have bought the house just where they are buried) but their memories and the unconditional love and joy they gave me i will take with me to live in that corner of my heart forever..
Like all the memories i have of the wonderful times here...and the ghosts of those special times will stay me where ever i go ..but now it is time for the soul of this house to bring happiness to the new owners of 63 Alma....
Oh and i almost forgot....my very special and beautiful neighbors..both next door and across the road...how i wish i could take them with me...but what a wonderful opportunity to return to Alma Street when i feel the need....
BUT now see where it will all begin again........hopefully in April the first sod will be turned...
Standing at the bottom of our block...looking south east sort of...
see ..there is our Beattie dog already checking out her new patch...
This is where we will build our new home.... Perth ...the new cul de sac will be called Opal Court..it is not even started yet... but if you can see the writing on the pics you will see that i have semi rural viewsand to the west i see the Western Tiers..in winter i will see them covered in snow and the sunsets will be magical in the autumn.....BUT i have some gardening ahead of me....
With every new start there is always new challenges..... am i up to it?????
