On the farm we visited was this old cottage (no longer used as a dwelling...just a store really) with some amazing pieces of old furniture in different stages of disrepair... just loved these two old chairs...the cobwebs, dust and the smell of old age ......and mice pooh...mmmmm
the old shed had no roof on it and all this junk must have had a use at some time or another????
hand carved on a door.......
All sad when i saw this chair...i wonder who sat on this chair...was it a goldilocks or a bear...(dont be a nut)..at what table or beside the fire......will it ever be restored????
The farm used to be a Dairy Farm but now the milking machines are covered in dust and they lasy idle...no more to milk the pure white liquid from soft mewing doe eyed bovines.....
The ingenuity of the country farmer...old machinery made into a BBQ.... (of course it no longer functions as such)..just a decoration in the garden now.
Don't throw it away just because it no longer functions.... it can be a thing of beauty (well depends who says so)
"What are these?".... Dinosaur Eggs...NO ...they are Emu eggs...just laid out there in the open on the farm.....
The very fruitful garden....cherry tomatoes....
Tropical fruit...i wish these were ripe!!!!!
Tropical flowers...... beautiful... so high up in the huge trees... a haven for the wild bird life ...the coloured parrots who flew in of an evening and early morning...
Watching the sunset ...that is Jan my friend watching it with me....she is farm sitting on this beautiful farm...just stunning.
there is the farm in the distance...10 Ks off the main road...rolling hills and cows having soft brown calves.....
The farm belongs to the Munro's and here is their letter box(i told you these farmers use ingenuity...that is an old fridge they use for a letter box).... i am now checking the family tree...i have Munro's in there ...might be spending more time there on the farm if it turns out we are related!!!
And just to show you that this place really exists...Here is the Ettamogah Pub ...it is on the highway not far from Woodford...NO we didn't stop...i took this out of the car window....
so much to see and so little time....we will have to come back to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland...
