Saturday Drive.........

Here is the headline of today's Sunday paper....... this accident happened yesterday and miraculously the driver of this truck survived...he even climbed out of the vehicle himself and is recovering in the Launceston General Hospital...
We were taking dad for a drive to George Town to visit "Himself's" parents who are in the Nursing Home there and we were held up by the emergency crew who attended this accident...(mmm...of course i had the camera and went snapping away)
see here below....

that huge crane is actually lifting the cab of the overturned truck so that it can be removed..i saw that mashed up truck cab and felt sure the driver had not survived...
The truck was laden with saw dust and did not quite manoeuvre the bend..it tipped over...and slid a way down the verge before coming to a halt...

see the emergency crews taking a break on the fence... it looked like the cab of the truck may have caught a fire????

the load spilled on the verge of the highway ...
so glad there was no fatality...
We had a lovely drive on Saturday but seeing something like that makes for more awareness as you drive the highways...
Stay safe everyone...

  1. Yes I agree, I'm glad there were no fatalities. It would have given the driver a fright when the truck tipped over. I skidded on ice years ago driving up towards Rosebery, and had to pull over to recover, it was so scary. It made me more careful thereon in though.
