summer means .....BERRIES

How we love the abundance of berries during the summer here in Tassie....
little ruby orbs of sumptuous flavor bursting on your tongue....mmmmm yes....I think we are in the Garden of Eden here in Tassie....
especially when you have so many different berries on the one patch of garden....
The Hillwood Strawberry Farm on the Tamar River just a few kilometers from Launceston....
Pick Your Own....
Check us out just doing that...

the raspberries B and I picked.....

there was about three kilos of strawberries here that went home with us.... $9.50 a kilo..so worth it...

How big are those beauties????

there were also black currants, red currants and Logan berries and gooseberries...

there they are...the family....of to do their picking in the fields of strawberries...

Check out the tummy on Hattie...she put two in the mouth and one in the container...

Look Nanna this one is huge...i am going to eat it all myself!!!!

there is a good lot of play equipment and a mini petting zoo with ducks, baby goats and pigs too...worth the drive ...so much of a fun day out

and then home to make homemade ice cream (you will never eat that commercial stuff again)with the new ice cream maker they got from Auntie Sarah...yummo!!!
