Durassic Park?????? OR....Tasmania Zoo!!!!!

You would think that you had stepped back into the age of the Dinosaurs but really we were at the Tasmania Zoo at the end of Ecclestone Road in Riverside ..Launceston.... Tasmania...
They are bigger than life size and are so totally lifelike....and to think that are made of fibreglass.....

The walk through the bush along a track with dinosaurs appearing on each side of the one kilometer path.... Dinosaur noises and obvious sounds of battle between the different species makes for a very interesting short stroll back into time....

Then we came back to today's age and walked through the Zoo with animals from our age and time.....

All 6 of us ...a great day out...

And Hattie just had to have a hold of this Blue Tongue lizard...as did Rosie..not scared at all.

this big man Kangaroo was loving a little scratch behind his ears from two little girls....

for those of my blog followers overseas ...this is our very own Tasmanian Devil...who is in danger of becoming extinct because of a facial tumor disease that is rampid in the wild at the moment and is killing this amazing creature ...so the zoo has a breeding program happening to keep the species alive for the next generations...

And this little guy is a koala...not normally found in Tasmania in the wild but it is on mainland Australia

Fairy penguins are found around our coastlines here in Tasmania...gorgeous little fellas...

eeeewwww...i was sure glad there was a huge plate glass window between this guy and our Rosie....

check out the evil eye on this python....no wonder his relative put a spell on Mother Eve to eat the Apple in the Garden of Eden....

  1. What an awesome dinosaur display! It gave me chills looking at this, they seem so real. Oooh!

I'm pretty sure we went there a couple of years ago, but the dinosaurs weren't there - I would have remembered it! xx
