My Tasmania.....Deserted Cottage No 4

Just because i am out of the state doesn't mean i cant take a little piece of Tassie with me....AAAh!!!!! the wonders of storing photos on a disc.....
Along the road to the east coast ...just as you turn off onto the Lake Leake Higway from Campbell Town and just over the railway line is this dear little deserted cottage....

You can see it quite clearly from the road ...i didnt even have to jump the fence to get these shots

See here the verandah detail ...scolloped edges ...someone once cared enough to make it look quaint....perhaps there once stood a rocking chair on that verandah ...it faces the east where the sun would rise ......

never a lick of paint to ever dress its timber walls ...now parched and dry by years of sun, wind and weather .....but i am sure it was built with love

corrugated iron now covers the eyes that were once windows and the door to the soul and heart of this home...i wonder who lived here and why they left?????

  1. This looks a bit like the one on the way to Cradle Mountain. Probably from the same era.
