No less than Three Books
Not to be out done by Wendy i have started to read more.... so i now share three of the books i have enjoyed just recently.... "Daughters of Shame" by Jasvinder Sanghera ...is a compilation of true life experiences of honour based forced marriages ...the author herself was forced into one such marriage and she decided to set up a safe community based organization where those women could have anonimity and still have a life...even though were sort after by their families and if found were in danger of their lives (their fathers and in some cases their brothers murdered them)and those of any children ....this is all still happening in the UK and the book was written in 2009 ..really scary to think it is still going on.... "Three Mother" is a fictional debut novel of Sonia Lambert...following the lives of three women ...grandmother, mother and daughter ...actually entwining their lives through the novel...good thought provoking light reading....i did this reading while i was on holidays in Brisbane and "Tuscany Style" is a pictorial pocket book sent to me by a dear friend in WA (thanks heaps Barb) who has been to most of the places depicted in its pages and knows of my longing to see Tuscany ...a beautiful book to escape into .... one that you pick up off the coffee table (where it lives permenantly) and put down with a sigh then go into one of those dreamy far away looks for a bit.....
