These amazing Poppy Fields are created from plastics, plastic blooms and and wrought iron stems with mirrors for stamens.....they just take your breath away ...you will find this little garden of poppies just to the right side of one of the walkway to one of the entrances to the Eumundi Markets.....
The top throw is my absolute favorite...totally covers a single bed both sides to the floor and over the pillow like a bed spread... for just over $150 and double sided and hand stitched...
It was hard for me to get away from this stall.... called "Heavenly Abode"...website http://www.heavenlyabode.com.au/ totally gorgeous throws, cushions and bed covers
all double sided and gloriously vibrant colours....(PS if you love carved printing blocks check out the ones one this site as well...you will love them all)
I can't wait to go shop there when i am in my new house....
Yes this is where we were...... you have to visit this place which turns into a small city
on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Rows and rows of everything you can think of ... very different and very unique and talented Artisans sell their wares from these stalls.
And this is one of the special stalls i couldn't wait to visit...Vintage Kidz run by Marnie...Marnie makes children's clothes from recycled materials like vintage sheets, table clothes and Doilies... i visited this stall in October last year when we took Hattie on holidays to Australia Zoo... We loved the clothes Marnie was creating ...but she told me that she was finding it difficult to source the materials to continue making her creations....me being me said i would have a look for her down here in Tasmania and left with her card and a promise to call her when i did find some for her...so when i got home the search was on ... the Mission shops, the garage sales and Salvos( and a special lady via her blog... who has a great sources down in Ulverstone).... I think Marnie was very shocked when i rang her to ask where to send the items i had collected for her... and send them i did ..a couple of lots, mainly doilies, which has boosted her stash... You can see Marnie showing me some of the clothes she had created from the bits and pieces i had collected for her.... so continue to collect i will so a very talented lady can continue to create such beautiful little peoples clothes ..stay tuned for her blog address where you will be able to see her creations..it will be up on mine soon........
The buskers....
the didgeridoo player....
The guitarist...look at his little dog under the chair.... (yes it was wearing a coat and the weather was a little crisp up there in the Glass House Mountains...i started off in a cardi but it soon warmed up around 10 ish)
I LOVE the character in this guys face...he was watching a guitarist play....
A second hand vintage clothing stall...and the lady told me off for taking photos without asking!!!!!! Can you believe that????? she said it was a private property thing...I almost said "if it is so private why have you got it out on display then???" ..but i didn't ..i just apologised and walked on......
I just LOVED this chandelier...mmmmmm....might have to find a place to hang this in my new house...
Well they actually make jam from this little red flower bud.... and it was yummmy..
These markets are on Saturdays and Sundays in Cararra on the Gold Coast ... and it is practically within walking distance of my brothers house...Saturday was a glorious day so we decided to go....

These felt bags and bits and bobs were really vibrant and expertly made...i wanted to bring home all of them ...but settled for none in the end because i couldn't decide....

My Nephew, his son and my sister in law checking out the stalls....

Oh there were so many other things i could have shown you...i just wish you could have had all your sensed heightened like i did...the warmth of the sun on my head and face, the vibrant colours, the sparkle of the merchandise, the exotic smells of the foods, the flowers and fruits, feel the textures of the materials, check out the faces and watch the people as you sit and enjoy scrumptious food for lunch...walk the rows and rows of stalls and just listen to the sounds of the music and the different accents and voices...all the sounds of the markets.... a real experienc....
Tomorrow we visit the farm at Woodford...... STAY TUNED
These markets are fun aren't they? If only you could take home everything that catches your eye! I was rather frustrated having to leave it behind. Came home with heaps of ideas though!
ReplyDeleteWiah I could be there! I love looking at all the wonderfully artistic creations at market stalls. You are amazing to find all the materials for the Vintage KIdz shop. Now I'm going to check out "heavenly abode". Wendy xxx
ReplyDeleteI miss a good Aussie market! I've been to a few craft shows here- but so much of it is really expensive jewellery! I'd love to have a handy little market to sell my stuff.
