Check this gun below ..they actually made this gun in the Railway workshop here in Launceston
Swoon over this old Holden car it is on the railway carriages in the exhibition....
the steering wheel with a column change ..and to think i used to drive one of these once...that was in the good old days.......
how do you fancy going to this loo on a cold frosty morning?????
All the bits and pieces you need for what????...I don't know...there they are though still frozen in time ...just waiting to be put to good use to fix something that is no longer made ....
the washbasins waiting to wash hand that have long since been stilled ...
the furnaces waiting ...never to be fired up again...all watched over by their operators empty chair..no longer to be sat in...

Little hands too small to hold this chain..over even to lift it from it last resting place...
thousands of links of chain just rusting quietly away......
The workshop of the men who painted all the Railway signage by hand....after mixing the paints they never wiped the residue from the stirring sticks and just hung the sticks back on the nail to drip...forming this amazing creative flow of colour over the years....

Wooohooo George Town...my home town......where i grew up from the age of 5 till i married "Himself" and moved to Launceston...(and i am still here!!!)

the wonderfully preserved badges from the Locomotives that came and went through the Launceston Railway Yards where the Museum now is....

You have to make the Museum a stop when you visit Launnie..... there is so much more to see on the site than i have shown you here.....like the Planetarium and the art gallery just two more examples..
Check it out...plus it is FREE...what more do you want.....
What a neat place. I'm a lover of antiques.
